Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before you arrive

Reservations

Reservations are strongly recommended, especially on Friday and Saturday evenings. Walk-ins are welcome based on availability, but we cannot guarantee seating without a reservation. You can call us at (312) 555-0194 or use the contact form on our website.
For weekday dining, 2–3 days in advance is usually sufficient. For Friday and Saturday evenings, we recommend booking at least one week ahead. For special occasions or large parties, two or more weeks' notice is ideal.
We ask that cancellations be made at least 24 hours before your reservation. For parties of eight or more, 48 hours' notice is required. Repeated no-shows may affect your ability to make future reservations.
Same-day reservations are possible depending on availability. Please call us directly at (312) 555-0194 for the fastest response. We do not guarantee same-day bookings through the online contact form.

Dining Experience

We maintain a smart casual dress code. We ask that guests avoid athletic wear, flip-flops, or overly casual attire. Business casual and above is always welcome. We want you to feel comfortable while honoring the atmosphere of the restaurant.
Yes. Please inform your server of any allergies or dietary restrictions when you arrive, or note them when making your reservation. Our kitchen team will do their best to accommodate your needs. We cannot guarantee fully allergen-free preparation, but we take all requests seriously.
Absolutely. We love celebrating special occasions. Please let us know when booking so our team can prepare accordingly. We can arrange a dessert presentation, custom seating arrangements, or décor for an additional fee. Contact us at reservations@richardschophouse.com for details.
Yes, we have a private dining room available for events ranging from 10 to 30 guests. This space is ideal for corporate dinners, rehearsal dinners, and milestone celebrations. Reach out to events@richardschophouse.com for availability and pricing.

The Menu

All of our steaks are finished over a live hardwood charcoal grill. We recommend medium rare for most cuts to best experience the flavor of our dry-aged beef, but our kitchen will prepare your steak to any doneness you prefer.
We source from a small number of Midwestern farms we have long-standing relationships with. Our prime beef is dry-aged in-house for 28 days. Our bison comes from a family ranch in South Dakota. We believe knowing where your food comes from matters.
Our core menu is consistent year-round, but we introduce seasonal specials based on what's available from our farm partners. Follow us on social media or call ahead to ask about current specials.

Getting Here

We're located at 847 N. Clark Street in Chicago's River North neighborhood. We're a short walk from the Chicago (Red Line) and Grand (Red Line) CTA stations.
We do not have a private lot, but there are several public parking garages within two blocks. Street parking is available on surrounding streets and is typically free after 9:00 PM. We recommend using a rideshare service on busy weekend evenings.
